To me the human element is such an important part of my travels to Disney or anywhere else. Our lives are all woven together in one way or another. Taking the time to pay attention and to soak it all in is so important. I like to use some of my posts to spotlight someone I have met in the parks or a special client. Today, I am very happy to introduce you to the Marullo and Cross families. They have mastered the art of planning awesome multi-generational trips to Disney. They visited Walt Disney World all together again this year and are happy to share their tips with anyone planning a multi-generational trip of their own. I hope you’ll enjoy reading about their favorites. Thank you, Megan, for answering all the questions. Thank you all so much for letting me share your story with my readers today!
Tell me about your latest visit to Walt Disney World.
Our last trip to Disney was June, 2017. Our travel party included myself and my husband and our 2 kids, 8 and 5, and our nephew also 5. My mom and dad went too. My dad and husband drove through tropical storm Cindy for this trip! This was our nephew’s first Disney trip. We visited all 4 parks and Blizzard Beach.
What is it that you love most about vacationing at Disney with several generations?
We love traveling to Disney with multiple generations because it caters to all ages. The character dinners are our families’ favorite thing because it allows the adults to not only enjoy the incredible food but also the joy and excitement on the kids’ faces when they are talking to their favorite characters.
What is your favorite park(s) and why?
Magic Kingdom hands down! We love all of the Disney parks but Magic Kingdom has always been the one we visit more than once. The kids enjoy the street parades and the interaction with the original characters. We asked the boys what their favorite ride is and all at once they screamed “7 Dwarfs Mine Train”!!
What is your favorite resort and why?
We stayed at the All Star Movies Resort this last trip in the Toy Story section and Toy Story has always held a special place in our hearts so that was amazing! But I would have to say our favorite would be the Wilderness Lodge. We like the tranquility of that one.
Does one person in your family serve as the planner of the activities or do you all meet together and talk about everything you want to do?
We all meet together and everyone has a special request that we try our best to meet.
What is your favorite character dining experience and why?
‘Ohana, no question! We can’t say enough about the food at this one! And the parade that the kids get to participate in makes it a favorite for them too!
What other special activities or events have you experienced all together that you would recommend to others?
The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage – watching the fireworks from the water was unbeatable. We also recommend the Luau at the Polynesian, and Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue.
What is your favorite fireworks show? Parade?
Illuminations at EPCOT is incredible. We also love the street parade at Magic Kingdom on Main Street because the kids are able to interact with the cast members.
In your opinion, what are the best ride options for multi-generational families?
The Barnstormer, 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, Kali River Rapids, Soarin’ and Toy Story Mania.
What is your number one must-do for multi-generational families?
Meeting Mickey, of course!!!
What is your best memory, so far, of Disney?
Walking in to Magic Kingdom and seeing Cinderella Castle for the first time.
What are you most looking forward to for your next visit?
The two 5-year-olds being tall enough to ride Rock N Roller Coaster!
Any other comments?
As a mom of a special needs kid I would have to say that Disney is one of the most considerate and accommodating vacation spots we have ever experienced. They went above and beyond in every way to insure my son had the best time possible.
Disney Cast members make sure you never forget your trip. They help you celebrate special moments like losing a first tooth, getting an anniversary ring, birthdays and your fist trip to Disney. It really is a magical place!
