Wednesday Q&A: Room Updates at Disney’s Pop Century Resort

disney's pop century room

Hello and welcome to today’s Wednesday Q&A. I hope you’ll find this post helpful if you are thinking about booking a newly renovated room at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

Q. How are the rooms different since the refurb at Disney’s Pop Century Resort?

A. Most of you know that Disney’s Pop Century is my favorite value property. The theming at this resort is fun and upbeat. I am very excited about the changes made recently to the rooms during the refurbishment. Here is some information on some of those changes:

Laminate floors

I am so thankful there is no more carpet. I love the cleanliness of the new laminate floors and this is especially welcoming for guests with various allergies.

Lighter color scheme

The lighter paint makes the space much more clean looking and spacious. I really like it.

Vibrant Mickey Mouse decorations

Mickey makes me happy. To me, there is a much happier vibe in the room.

Queen size bed plus pull-down queen-size Murphy bed

I am happy about the queen-size accommodations. Putting the murphy bed up in the daytime creates a lot more space.

No clocks in the rooms

There are no longer clocks in the Disney resort rooms. I never use the clocks in the rooms anyway so I won’t miss them.

Addition of USB-charging stations and outlets

Disney has added quite a number of USB-charging stations and electrical outlets into the rooms. This makes it very convenient for guests to stay connected since nearly every guest has some kind of electronic device.

Walk-in showers

Several of the resorts have replaced the tubs with walk-in showers. There are very few tub/shower combinations left available. That being said, if your family specifically needs a tub, you will need to request this on your reservation. If you check in and do not have a tub, you will need to contact guest services to specifically request a room with a tub.

All-in-all I am very happy about the changes to the rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The work on the gondola system will continue well into 2019 but even with that happening I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to my guests.
